    Both XLR/Jack

In desktop recording it is not beneficial because the cable run is short. A DI would make a difference if you need to use a long guitar cable, more than 18 feet. Use a DI and a shorter guitar cable. That said, this would be a quick way to have 2 identical tracks and affect them differently...

    Noisy amp in certain places.

I didn't say it was a ground loop. I didn't even imply that. There can be something else on the circuit that can cause the ground to be dirty. This is why I recommended a ground ISOLATOR and not a lifter.

    Noisy amp in certain places.

Maybe. Do your basses have single coil pickups or are the hum buckers? If they are single coils does the sound go away when you have them both at full? If they are hum buckers, it's more than likely a grounding issue. In this case you'll need a ground isolator. I like the Ebtech HumX but there...

    1-Spot CS-12 Power Brick -- 18v Jacks

Former Visual Sound, now TrueTone, customer service guy here. In general the answer is "no". Now the long answer. First, NEVER plug in a digital pedal into the wrong voltage. Ever. Digital don't react well to this. Some analogue drive pedals can be ran over voltage. This changes the...

    Newsted Sadowsky Differences?

From the tail end of the bridge to the center of the pickup it's 3.5 (bridge) and 6 (neck) inches. Mine is a 2001 pre VTC model so they might have moved. I think EMG made Rogers pickups at the time. If they have moved it won't be much and would have more to do with the dimensions of the pickups...

    Newsted Sadowsky Differences?

Asking someone to describe a sound is like asking someone to describe a color. In the 70s, J bass pickups were shifted toward the bridge by about a half an inch. It doesn't seem like a lot but it gives the bass more midrange honk. 60's position has a more round sound. It still has the...

    Newsted Sadowsky Differences?

You got 2 70s position J basses, a Modern with soap bars, and a PJ. For the J's pretty much any Fender Jazz to get an idea of the tone. Same for the P/J. This is a very common config. The modern is kind of like a Musicman, but not. Roger does offer a MM pickup option now if you want that. I...
