Nut is 1.75 wide. Space between strings is about 1/4" at the first fret.

Thanks... agree! If you were to replicate that build today, it'd be over $6k with a 9-12 month wait.

Not really chunkier, just wider. Like a traditional P-bass width. I've gotten used to the narrow necks on my Metro P, and my Verdine P/J.

Yes, it's 20mm at the bridge. But it's 14mm at the nut, versus 12mm on my other Sadowsky 4 string. And the neck at the nut on this bass is 45mm wide versus 39.25mm on my other Sadowsky 4.

i am pretty interested in this bass. How would we do a 'safe' transaction?

Since I'm relatively new to TalkBass, I understand your concern. I've done a ton on Reverb and eBay, but they take too much off the top on sales. That's why I switched to TalkBass. If you use PayPal, they do have fraud protection but they charge tax and it costs me 3%. If you have access to the Sadowsky page on Facebook, you'll see I have a long history there. Ask Calvin Johnson about me. A few months ago I sold him a Metro 5-string and he's totally satisfied. I will say that we initially used PayPal and it was a nightmare.
