Ibanez MC 924 I bought in 1983. It was a boat anchor but a beautiful instrument and had a tone to match. Sadly, sold it after I got married and have regretted it ever since.

You didn’t mention the type or gauge strings you are using on your Pbass. I wonder if moving to a lighter gauge or a more flexible type of string might help in the short term, especially while you’re still developing the strength and flexibility in your fretting hand.

I would love to try a Serek Sacramento in 32 inch scale, any Birdsong model and a Sandburg Lionel short scale. For 34 inch scale basses, a G&L L1000 or 2000 is on my wish list.

Mine arrived yesterday. It is lightweight but very sturdy. Very usable tones and the sound has an amp-like quality that doesn’t overwhelm the character of the bass. I really like the fact you can boost bass frequencies without sounding boomy or muddy.

I tried several Fender AS basses, both P and J, and was disappointed in the fit of the neck. For close to a grand, the neck better fit snug in the pocket. All the models I tried had gaps on one or both sides of the neck. I played a Schecter and Ibanez that were priced several hundred less and...

Not to hijack this but I am also considering a Warmoth J bass Neck. I have noticed they are predrilled at the heel. Do they line up well with the body or do they require alot of adjusting?
