Accustic 260 mini stack sounds tinny and distorted

Removed the cheap cable and TU-2 guitar tuner. No more distortion :). Wish I would have done this sooner. Not sure if it was the cable or the tuner as the new cables haven't arrived yet. But at least it sounds like a bass not a telephone voice changer!

    Some advice on fretting noise

Thanks guys. Sounds logical to keep my finger on the note a tad longer. Just have to retrain my brain :) Ordered a set of flats.

    Some advice on fretting noise

Which brand of flatwounds do you like? What is the sound difference from ernie ball (2834) to flatwounds? It's so annoying to constantly hear a ringing echo after certain notes. It's hard enough to learn to play, then think about muting with everything else going on!

    Some advice on fretting noise

For a man, have smaller hands. End up doing a lot more sliding to reach the notes. Even in slow practice sessions, just lifting my fingers straight up causes fret noise. Have small amounts of ringing (same note once lifted) while playing. How do most people deal with noise after lifting your...

Accustic 260 mini stack sounds tinny and distorted

I ordered some new mogami gold cables from ebay. I'm confident this is probably the issue. Thanks for your input :p

Accustic 260 mini stack sounds tinny and distorted

Let me put it another way. I did not say tuning the guitar caused distortion. When the guitar is tuned or out of tune the sound is a bit weird and somewhat distorted. Headphones sound great across the board. Not sure if its the amp or the speaker or something inline. Have a TU-2 chromatic tuner...

Accustic 260 mini stack sounds tinny and distorted

The notes sound fine on open EADG. Higher notes and others sound off or tinny. Using an electronic tuner that's inline. Tried both the passive and active inputs and both resemble the same sound issues. Just seems the notes are off or way out of tune even though the tuner shows "tuned."

Accustic 260 mini stack sounds tinny and distorted

I'm a beginner horsing around for about a year. Play with an Epiphone, Les Paul, 4 string. My amp is an Accustic 260 Mini Stack. Just changed the strings and still have this tinny, metalic sound that's almost distorted. Play at low levels and things just don't sound right. Is there anything I...

Sound is flat need some better tone

Hey friends, running an Epiphone Les Paul into an Accoustic 260 Mini-stack. Has been great for a beginner and now moving from the absolute beginner to beginner / intermediate area. Noticing the tone is a bit flat and could use some punch. Any recommendations for shaping up the tone with something?

    Technique for Small Hands

Something that has helped me as an adult beginner with small hands is learn the correct tabbed positions (from E-1 to maybe to the 12th fret) and slide quickly. An accurate "fast slide" can make up for not stretching 4 frets.

There are tons of songs available for the bass. When the song starts go to the instrument dropdown and change to bass. Most songs have a bass option. There is nothing better for the value or learning tool that I've found. If somebody knows of another site or software, please post it. Also have...

    Noob Club: Check out Songsterr.com

Wanted to share a site with the board. It's http://www.songsterr.com. Some you may have already heard of it or been there. Here's a little history: I'm a middle aged guy with absolutely no music experience of any kind. Definately not gifted and no artist. Smaller hands make bass playing a real...

What's a good combo amp for about $200?

New to playing the bass and just learning the basics. Read through a bunch of forum posts. Looking for an entry level combo amp (maybe 50 watts) for practice. What will get the job done without too much distortion and have a nice tone? Recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.
