Like many have said, I prefer flats on fretless. I prefer rounds or pressure-rounds on fretted mostly for extra tonal spectrum and verasatility when the piece calls for it.;)

In the style of John Entwistle, I really enjoy that style of play with the punch and attack and treble (I'm slow at slap). My question is sometimes I am have issues getting full sound out of it. Should I play at the neck or just at the pickup location, or maybe my attack angle is not obtuse...

In the studio I've always had the Sound guy say "just DI right here and you're done" while the guitarist mics his 'special' amp tone (which makes me a bit envious). How many of you DI or prefer mic'd? I wonder if that sound I get with my rig over years of experimentation with the speaker...

Hello I have an extra Wilkinson MWJH6, 6-string PU that I was wondering if I could use for my 5-string. Can someone tell me if this is a pole or rail type? And would the sonics make any difference installed on a 5-string?
