It is not just the active side that is low. The passive side is much lower output than my passive BB434. I recognize the value of having the active/passive ratio pretty even. Not going to adjust the pre pot.

I don't have my set upper with me right now, but that is something I am going to check on. Looks like Sire recommends 3.0mm on the E string and 2.5mm on the G string.

Thanks. I am learning on a 4. But 5 curious. Yes, the correct answer is always N+1. At least it has been for me with bicycles and saxophones in my life. I just prefer the +1 to be a decent choice, not a random questionable purchase.

I think I would play around and get used to the feel before making changes. So probably stay with the stock strings to start. But always open to suggestions.
