New Genzler Rig!

I recently acquired some new Genzler gear, and I wanted to share with the TalkBass community. I have an MG800+, MG350, two ULV112T's, and a ULV210T, all pictured below, as well as factory padded covers and carry bags for everything.

I have to say, for my needs (and I'm sure many others), Jeff hit the bullseye.

The MG800+ has some really useful new features for Genzler amps, including a HPF, two semi-parametric mid controls, and separate controls for each of the shape curves. The amp is very powerful, responsive and dynamic, with a huge variety of tones. The tried and true MG350 is a force in its own right and is much louder than you'd think for its wattage rating. It also has the ability to be attached to the ULV112T (or BA110-2) to form a handy combo.

The ULV cabinets are light, with the 112 at 19.5 pounds and the 210 at 25 pounds. However, the cabs are very sturdy and well made, so these won't be falling apart. Equally important for me is the small footprint and vertical orientation, which is ideal for the small, tight stages I often play on. They sound full and clear, and of course are backed by Genzler's excellent service.

Yeah, this will serve me well for the rest of my playing days. I hope others consider Genzler when considering new gear.

Sure thing. If the cover for the 210 arrives by the weekend, I'll be using it for a Saturday afternoon gig. The 210 feels almost as light as the 112, which is already crazy light.

I have a 350/BA-10 combo. I was thinking that adding a 12" to this might be nice for flexibility. First I was thinking a BA-12, but curious how the ULV112 would pair with the BA-10 if you stacked the two.

Congrats, that some great looking gear right there! If I were in the market for a new rig I would definitely be considering Genzler.

I owned a Shuttle 9.0.and the NeoX 212T cab. I had to sell them due to moving halfway around the world to Japan. Their customer service is top notch and their products are, too. If I needed to purchase amplification again, no doubt it would be Genzler and only Genzler. Please support this wonderful company!

I use one of these and I'm very happy with it. It does pretty much every gig since I bought it. I've used it in festivals with FOH and smaller venues without any problems. The bass specialist in Sydney where I bought it was surprised at how good my Rumble 500 head sounded going through it. I previously used a very good custom made 2x12 with the same head and although they both sound great, the Genzler gets the gigs because it's smaller, lighter and easier to carry. It cost a bit due to our exchange rates in Australia but I don't regret spending the money.

Not that I don't like my GR Bass gear, but I went all in on them before the ULV stuff was released. Had I known.....

...though I still have plenty of Shuttles and I reconfigured my pedalboard with a Magellan Pre and FOTF to drive the GR stuff.

I'll definitely be looking at a layout quite like yours Bob if the situation presents itself.

I put the MG350 combo atop a BA210 for louder gigs. Even in stupid heat, it sounds cool

Interesting that you mentioned this. I have used both the BA10/BA12 combination and the BA10/MG12T-V combination. I believe that the ULV112 and MG12T-V are very similar, so I think the comparison is valid.

I started using the BA10/MG12T-V when I joined a 5-piece band that often squeezed onto small stages, and I was standing right up against the amp. I followed Mr. Genzler's suggestion and turned off the tweeter on the 112, and the results were very pleasing. When stacked the amp controls were easier to reach and the sound of the BA10 was up closer to my ears.

I will say though that the BA10/BA12 sound was superior. The fullness, clarity, and sound dispersion were something to behold.

It just depends on your individual situation and tone goals, but I would be completely satisfied with either.

A couple thoughts, the BA2-112-3 is a larger 12" cabine so there will be "more" bigness in the low end and you could use the SLT version which would add to the arc in stacking which would put your smaller MG-350 combo closer to your ears on smaller stages. But using the MG-ULV-112T also allows you do bolt the MG-350 to the top of this cabinet too and take a larger combo to those stages that might need it. And the MG-ULV cab will most certainly add roundness to the low freq under the BA10-2-S2 cab/combo.
Just some additional options.

Yeah....I have the BA410 and it is the do it all one cab solution for about 90% of the shows I do. We are still in the midst of working out some gigs in the downtown Austin area that require some stair climbing and the possibility of carting gear a couple of blocks etc. The lighter I can go the better. I also wouldn't mind having another horn loaded cab for just another flavor of awesome tone.
