has anyone heard of basses with whammy bars. as half joke half serious want to get one put on my POS squier. but then again im cheap (explains my POS bass) and could always just shove a screwdriver up in my bridge.

I'm a fairly new to bass ( i play like ive had it for a year) but i definately know I want to go beyond the avg range but i want to my main styles to be slap and plain finger style and mayb a little pick thrown in. Frettless, i don't know, just sounds fun but I don't know how well it will work...

refering to The Decline by NOFX... Yeah there's like two "epic" parts in it but the whole memorization of it and the length sure make it harder. But yeah i know what you mean

i've been playin for bout 2 years and i want to learn slap what are some good exercises that help build speed in slappin' and poppin'.

what about the whole not feeling the mute thing does that just kind of fall into place?

I'm a bass player of about two years self taught by tabs and jamming, who wants to learn slap BADLY. The only song I know well is "Jungle Man" by the RHCP. The main reason I'm intimidated by slap are the mutes and I'm mainly looking for advice with mutes and tabs in increasing slap-difficulty...

lol i was wondering if/when someone was going to put the Decline. Other then that I don't know since I've been playing 2 years everything sounds hard thats fast
