Wal- I bet they are heavy
Rick- everytime I pick one up I think 'how the hell did Geddy play all those notes on one of these?'
    Influences and Teachers:
Gene Simmons (I know the man is a tool, but my god did that band fire my imagination as a kid from the burbs), Steve Harris (I liked the band up until Piece of Mind, then I just got interested in other things), Geezer (especially on Heaven and Hell, which I have read he only came on board at the last minute... Craig Gruber apparently wrote a lot of the bass parts.... go figure), Geddy (not always sure about his tone, but he has played some of my favourite music), Michael Anthony (poor Mike, he really tries hard... and I love some of his stuff), Muzz Skillings (the songs aren't always that good but I loved what Muzz did with drummer Will), Billy Gould (I loved working out what he was doing on Epic, and he made me feel ok about owning an Aria), Justin Chancellor/Paul D'Amour (I like both these guys, and I can hear how Paul formed the basis on which the band moved forward with Justin; not an easy gig keeping locked in with Danny Carey), Dee Murray (Funeral For A Friend was one of the first times I sat and listened to just the bass line, and I thought 'wow, what a cool sound'), there are lots more and new ones I come across every day :)
