    Mackie/Alesis/Custom Patchbay System $1750

How much for the dog? Also, what kind of power strip comes with the SKB 10u?

Is grammar, punctuation, and the like an indicator of anything?

http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=ain't Am not, is not, etc. I'm glad to see that the majority of this board is with me with regards to the use of spelling and grammar. I've always stuck to the belief, however arrogant, that one man who is of of comparable intelligence to another, but...

    Finding the Serial Number

Hey guys. Perhaps the few terms I tried are composed of three or four individually vague words, but I searched here and google alike and can't find any information on how to find the serial number on my Brice (rondo) six-string bass. I heard a while ago that it might be in the neck cavity, but...

If only I had the $1800... I'd be all over that. Yeah. At the very least, I can switch between electronics-heavy and recorded sound-heavy tracks, and perhaps export electronic parts from FL and open them in Cubase. It'll certainly save on system resources, and I can take note of things to fix...

Also, does anyone know where I can get a MIDI interface that just amounts to a bunch of assignable sliders and buttons? That would be immensely useful.

Alright, I guess I'll go with the tascam. For Studio recording, Cubase seems far better and more stable than Ableton, so I'll try that, but with the kind of work I do, I'm guessing I'll probably end up mostly in FL. Good to learn another DAW though, just in case.

So I'm set up with an ultra-performance laptop with 16 gigs of ram in it, specifically for audio work. It functions nicely running an unruly number of high-memory plugins so far, and leaves my desktop in the dust. However, I've been told I'll need some fancy hardware to make use of pro tools...

Perhaps. I'm very interested in Pro Tools, but I'd be willing to give Ableton and Cubase a try. Anything but Cakewalk. I've also used Sony Acid and Adobe Audition in my time. Acid since it was a 3.0 product with Sonic Foundry and Audition since it was good old fashioned Cool Edit.

Well yes, but that's just the thing. Whereas I'd like to work with Ableton or Pro Tools, more than half the sounds going on are coming out of Omnisphere, Trillian, or any number of other synths, and through FL I can run every input part into an on-screen mix chain. and work seamlessly with the...

Awesome! I'm actually picking up a Behringer ultragrain MIC200 (shipped two days ago), so I'm glad to know they're workable. Out of curiosity, which kind of DI do you use out of the bass head?

Thanks. The Tascam seems to be precisely what I need. Are the preamps any good in there? Also, is there really any place for my good old Mackie 1202 VLZ-pro analog mixer once I have a setup with that many In/Outs

    Multitrack Recording

Hey guys! I could drone on and on about the options I've been considering, but I'd rather just ask a short and sweet question: For what should I be looking to record multiple tracks at once? I use FL studio, which lets me take control of different inputs on a single soundcard via...
