Yep, works with all my other basses whether active or passive. At first, I think the issue was just in active mode with the Dingwall. But now, it seems to be occurring in active or passive mode. No such issue when I plug it into an amp.
Anyone have any issues with using a headphone amp with their Dingwall? My John Taylor and my Fender Mustang Micro Plus don't seem to get along. Makes a super loud high pitched, screeching sound that I can hear without even putting the headphones anywhere near my ears.
Did you only listen to the start of the song? At the beginning of the song I thought there was fuzz as well, but I think it was just the guitar doubling the part. In the verses or any of the sections where the bass isn't doubled, it sounds great.
No worries, thanks for the help. Just to confirm, it does look like switchcraft is imperial. I got the new electrosocket this weekend and screwed it in place. Back in business.
Thanks. I think it’s actually the opposite actually with the switchcraft being imperial and the electrosocket being metric. That’s what it looks like anyway with the internet saying imperial is slightly larger. Makes sense also with the SMX being made overseas.
Well I’ve ordered a telecaster...
As the titles states, I just replaced a faulty output jack for my Metroexpress. Being new to soldering, I was happy that I was able to get a good connection...until I went to thread the jack to the electrosocket. It kept spinning and I realized that the new one was just slightly thicker on the...
very nice. Just FYI - many newer laptop power banks will go over 80 watts output. I think the 2 I have and use have a max output of 100 watts and 140 watts for a single USB-C output
Thanks. I can see how what I wrote could be confusing. I was referring to the comment I quoted which said: to me there's just some special sauce going on with a good passive tone control
Yep, the VTC works in both passive and active. To clarify, I was saying that I didn't think I could be...
Honestly, it could be fine without the VTC, but I feel the same way about passive tone control. I'm not a huge tone tinkerer, but I couldn't imagine going into passive mode without at least that as an option.
Agreed, it's all just opinion based and the VTC works great for me. Like you said, Sweetwater's install was cheap and I got a good discount on the preamp. They sent me the old preamp too, so if I sell that, it's a fairly inexpensive swap.
