i recently got a second cheaper power bank which works great. It is sometimes finicky and takes 2-3 tries to get it working to start but once it’s on it has not shut down on me. These are the two I have which both work great with the usb-c to 5.5mm converter someone else linked in this thread a while back. I think they both run 20V at 5A. They put out more than 100W each so maybe that’s why the loud volume slaps don’t shut them down?View attachment 7160645

Several hours each. I usually keep them mostly charged so I don’t think I’ve ever run out of juice in one session. Hope they work out for you.

I'm using the next size smaller Anker bank (20,000 mAh, 200W), and it seems like it would last forever, so yours is forever plus an hour or two.

My BG-80/D4+ came bundled with the PJB carry bag, which is super sturdy. There's enough space in the top of the bag for me to fit the Anker power bank on top of the amp. Looks like you've got more pocket space in your bag from Amazon, but I've got enough space for the AC power cord, USB-C cable, and my Joyo wireless plugs. Considering the heft of the BG-80, I'm very happy with the padded shoulder strap and carry handle, as well as the metal hooks and swivels for the shoulder strap. When I put my D4+ in the Arriba bag I use for the Nanobass X4, it felt like it was much less protected, and likely to begin to come apart under the strain. Your Amazon bag looks somewhere in between.

I don't know how durable it is because I haven't used it much, but definitely prefer it to the Arriba (I do like that one for the NanoX4 + pedals). Powerpack fits fine in a mesh side pocket, and have cables, USB charger, case shoulder strap/etc. in the zippered front pouch. Was definitely too small/tight without the mod, but like the "snug" fit, now.

Yes - that pack indeed powers it forever+!...

The no go battery has a large capacity but only puts out 25 watts. I think the battery has to basically put out 100 watts from one single output jack to get enough juice out; 20v 5A.

A 65 watt outlet may work, 20v at 3A, but the 100w banks are getting pretty affordable these days, so probably not worth chancing it.

I like them both. Not the smallest batteries but I’ve been able to Velcro them to the amp to have one handed carry ability.

(For the BG80/D4+) I think the important spec is volts. On Amazon, scroll down to "Features and Specs", hit the down arrow. The one I have is rated at 20V. Many of the "No Go" links posted in this thread show 5V output.

Here's what's in the BG80 manual:

19. Type-C Port
DC input (USB Type-C port) connection supports Portable charger of USB PD (Power Delivery)
Protocol.
1. This port is only used for power input but not for power supply.
2. Supports USB PD Protocol (20V/3A and above)
3. After it is successfully connected to a PD Portable charger, the power indicator will flash
during the shutdown. The product is ready for use.
4. When the power of the Portable charger is lower than 10%, it may cause the sound to cut off
or be intermitted.
5. The maximum power output of the power source and speakers:
DC 20V/3A/Speaker: 2×25W Max.
DC 20V/5A/Speaker: 2×40W Max.
6. The discharge time when using the power bank via Type-C (for reference):
About 8 hours continue working with a 20000mAh power bank output 20V/3A.
About 5 hours continue working with a 20000mAh power bank output 20V/5A.

Yes volts are important. But so are Amps. And volts times amps equals watts. So I think you’d need at least 60W coming out of the power supply. I opt for the 100W units to be on the safe side.

This convo is electrifying! I'm shocked at the amount of variation I'm seeing in finding batteries. (hey! I'll be here all week!)

The pack I got runs consistently at 20 volts and I see amp draws fluctuate between 2.8 on it and 7+ if I play higher midrange stuff, which surprised me. We'll see how it goes!

Not sure I saw it mentioned, but there is a difference in USBC cables - some can deliver the higher power, some can't, so make sure you have one that can....

An update on my battery choice. My put together battery/inverter was too cumbersome, so I went to Amazon and instead of a laptop battery that used a USB-C connection, which limits the watts to 80, I bought a compact pure sign wave 150w, 42000mAh powerbank with an A/C outlet for $110, which allows the amp to output the full 90w.

I used the short power cable so that the battery will sit conveniently on top of the amp with Velcro®. I tested this setup last week with my uke group of 25 in the backyard of one member playing for 90 minutes. The battery showed 78% power left. No shutoff when I didn't play for a couple of minutes, or when I tap the strings.

Yes the Kirsdonia will shut off it it see more than 4.7A in 20V mode = 90W. The Double Four is 70W so should be good... not sure if higher peaks are possible but I haven't had it shut off, and has been pretty much maxed a few times. The double tap is to cycle the voltage setting. 20V is the 5th option so I just quickly tap it 10x.
I will look again if there is a way to set as default, but I'm guessing not. They may want it to default to the lowest setting for safety reasons, who knows...

very nice. Just FYI - many newer laptop power banks will go over 80 watts output. I think the 2 I have and use have a max output of 100 watts and 140 watts for a single USB-C output

What I meant was, the Double Four Plus needs to be plugged into an A/C outlet for it to output 90w, if it's using the USB-C for its power, it will put out 80w.

I have a Jackery "motorless generator" [read: battery pack] and it hasn't let me down. They come in various sizes and it's like plugging in to wall power. I haven't used one to power an amp, but it has never failed for anything I've plugged in to it.

I can't get my phone to co-operate at the moment, but there's one on sale at Amazon right now.

Here I am in December 2025, at the end of this thread, looking for a battery pack that will work with PJB B-75. The Poweradd that worked with it died. I'd like something similar that I can just plug in, but it looks like the newer versions all come with type C in and out and I'd need an adapter to the PJB DC "in." I can manage that, but would love to see recommendations for an all-inclusive set-up that actually works for you in real life. I am playing mostly in acoustic jam settings and only need a couple of hours--low and slow.
