Thanks franksgbass , seems like the exact situation. Yeah I think ill go for the pedals first and maybe a package deal with the amp that will get me closer to the amp head I think. Then maybe save up and see what I can get for a cab. If i could get around $550 for the fender i would feel good...

Hey toptube Yeah its all the strings . Tried what you said anyways but didn't work. Switched the strings out for hybrid slinkys and that fixed my problem. I guess not everything new is better!!! So no more cobalts for me.

Yeah I have noticed that the new cobalts have a very rough surface on them almost like pulling on fine grit sand paper. I like the tone coming from them put the buzz is problematic to me enough to switch them out. Got them because they were something new and had to try them out, hey now I know.

Thanks nashman I think my next step is to switch the strings between the the two and see if the strings are really the issue here.

I just got a Matt Freeman signature Squier P bass . I believe this is a 70s modeled bass, with a modern take just a suggestion. Surprisingly good bass looks great and feels like a more expensive bass. I actually preffer playing it to my MIM deluxe P.
