The BH2 are genuinely awesome sounding pickups. I honestly wish they would make them available in more sizes.

I've played exclusively in A standard for well over a decade at this point. Standard tuning doesn't even sound good to my ears anymore because it lacks that extra booty the loosened strings give.

The golden pearl ones are definitely harder to come by!

Whenever you touch metal on the bass you are completing the ground circuit. Fully shield the electronics cavity with copper, ground the bridge wire to the copper, and you will no longer need to be what completes the circuit.

My 535 is also ash/ash/BEM and anyone that knows me outside of here knows that I've had quite a journey with it :thumbsdown:. This may be a bit long winded, but I think it's worth it for anyone that buys this wood combo and isn't too keen on a taking a loss by selling it and trying to get into...

Well, anytime you add laminations you create compression and neutralize sympathetic resonances. No doubt that neck has a way more focused sound than a single piece of ash.

MT5T are reverse p splits, which is why they are not quite as dark/warm as the drop shoulders that were in that black Basic 5 (which are MT5C duals). Once Mike was out of the picture the part numbers on the back of the pickups stayed the same, but the sound of the pickups drastically changed...
