The Official MTD USA Thread

Please elaborate. Curious to know how that came to be, and how it sounds on your MTD.
Pretty simple. I gave the stock electronics a shot out of respect to Mike & Daniel, but ultimately decided that they did not achieve what I prefer. I first installed a TCT with a different buffer (to accommodate for 9v only operation and the higher input sensitivity of the TCT), but the TCT could not save the stock MTD splits for me. I then moved to a tried and true formula of the 80s/90s, parallel dual coils paired to a TCT and that's where I've stayed.

Hey folks,

Posting here before it hits the classifieds and other outlets. Selling my Saratoga 5f p/j. Swamp Ash body, roasted maple neck, birdseye fingerboard.

About to take the plunge as well (even though I'm still unsure what combo is right for me). Here's hoping I end up with something special :)
Do it! Haha Whatever you choose is going to be amazing! I went with a walnut top, Swamp Ash body, maple neck & Birds Eye maple board :bassist: this is my 4th MTD but it always feels like the first time lol ;)

Wow you're an MTD veteran lol

This will be my first ever high-end/boutique bass. Likely going to be a 534-21 (or 24) or 535-21 (or 24)
I'm leaning toward a walnut Top (or possibly Myrtle, Spalted Maple, Redwood, Quilted/spalted/flamed/burl Maple, box elder,..., or of course topless of course), Alder Body, Maple neck (maybe toasted), Rosewood (or maple) FB, and perhaps the Super electronics (pre and pups) (mainly to get the passive tone capability, plus the wiring options may come in handy).
I guess looking at it, it could be similar to this bass:

I dig this top as well:

Those are gorgeous! Let us know what you decide to go with. Can‘t go wrong with the options you listed.
