Yeah it doesn’t bother me, was more just curious if it was a design choice or something happened to it. I’m also rounder than I used to be and is perhaps a bit more ergonomic the way it is haha.

I will mirror the lightest bass comment. I thought my Ibanez SR500F (fretless) was light, but pretty sure my Samick I just picked up (shown a few posts back) is lighter. Crazy story about the burglary, 100% if it was a Fender or any other recognizable brand it would have been long gone.

Samick neck through bass need help identifying

So I picked it up for $400 CAD. It’s definitely got its dings and wear on it (to be fairly expected for something around the 89-94 era based off the version of Samick logo used on the headstock) and definitely needs a good cleaning but that will have to wait until I restring it. Pots were very...

Not sure if you’re still around on these forums and if so still have that bass. It’s the closest I’ve seen anywhere on the internet to one I just picked up, with the headstocks being the only thing I see different. I do have a question for you regarding the top horn. On mine it is not in line...

Based off what I have seen the materials could be walnut top, basswood body, 7 layer maple and walnut neck? Does that sound right?

I was thinking the exact same idea on some EMG’s. Was thinking of eventually putting some Les Claypool P bass EMG’s in it. Invalid Link Removed

Would anyone have any idea what model this may be? Someone in my city is selling it and I’m interested in it but can’t find a single shred of info about this specific one. The closest I found was in this thread on page 8. One was virtually identical except that has a 2x2 headstock. The other one...

Samick neck through bass need help identifying

I’ll try asking in there. But that is the thread I found the two closest examples of what I’m looking at purchasing. One was identical in just about every way except the headstock and the other was right headstock, different color and the toggle for the pickups rather then 2x volume pots. It...

Yeah it peaked my interest cause I’ve been looking for something with a P bass pickup as well as something neck through. To it kinda scratches both itches haha.

Samick neck through bass need help identifying

Hello everyone, Found a bass I may be interested on Facebook market place and need help with perhaps identifying what model it could be. It has zero model, serial number or “made in” markings on it. All my research pointed to maybe a GB 637 but those have 2x2 headstocks where this one is in...

    Univox short scale

Thank you for all that advise. I will certainly give all that a go. The hum only goes away if I touch the metal on my fender cable. Touching the bridge or strings does not. But yeah putting a bit more force on the cable into the jack pretty much gets rid of it. You are probably right in it being...

    Univox short scale

Another update. Found some old strings hidden in an old hard case. Definitely old and grimy and not sure I had kept them in the case lol but was slough to at least string the E and G to check alignment. Discovered there could be an issue with the jack and/or when brother swapped the bridge...

    Univox short scale

Got it home now. A little more info on it. The bridge was replaced by my brother (which we knew had been replaced) but he also replaced the neck too. I couldn’t find it when I was over to pick it up, but it was found in the basement today. It has the original headstock badge on it. He said he...

Squier Squire 6 string Affinity Jazz!

Yeah those lined up pretty well once the pick guard was trimmed down. The top where it widens out was just a tad longer and not as wide as the stock one. The width where it widens out at the top on the stock one must be made specifically for the 6 string and the wider pick guard which could...

Squier Squire 6 string Affinity Jazz!

Gold control plate, gold screws for the pick guard and green knobs installed. Note for anyone wanting to swap out the control plate. I bought a genuine Fender one and the size is not identical to the stock one. Gold one was a tiny bit longer and I had to shave off 2-3mm off the pick guard where...
