    Washburn Defret/Refinish

MagicMan: Too late! I put on the final coat this afternoon. It looks great. I sanded out the small imperfections and sprayed away, this time being careful to spray lightly and evenly. You can see the kind of sheen and sparkle it has from the shot of the headstock face.

    Washburn Defret/Refinish

Beej: I managed to get some painting in today, and I did just about what you described—and it worked! No spattering! I think that can may have been slightly defective; I found the nozzle was slightly pulled off, and then when I shook it, it spattered paint from somewhere near the bottom of the...

    Washburn Defret/Refinish

Thank you for the advice, gents. I've been trying to be careful to thoroughly prepare before each step, and the results have been great, except that I've made a few errors in judgment... which I shall presently explain. I started by priming, which I did a week or so ago. ProfGumby, you were...

    Washburn Defret/Refinish

Picked these up yesterday: Primer/color/clear. I'm trying the paint with metal flakes in it. It looks pretty cool!

    Mahogany/Butternut Neck–Through build

Thank you for the complements, TheBigO! roberthabraken, it's an honor to have one's work followed! Rodent: I appreciate the advice. It's good to know, as I'm planning on hand carving! (For the fun of it.) El Kabong: Thanks a lot—since pretty much all designs have some inspiration, I'll...

    Mahogany/Butternut Neck–Through build

This is the monumental 'First Build' for me, and I'm pretty stoked at how things are coming along! I thought I might share this project, though, sad to say, in my concentration on not making a mistake while working, I've forgotten to take pictures a lot of the time. Anyway, the specs...

    Washburn Defret/Refinish

Hullo, I'm doing a simple defret/refinish of a 'Lyon', a cheap Washburn P-bass copy. It was my first bass, and pretty beat up. So for fun (and mostly experience), thanks to the many helpful guides and other projects here, I decided to refurbish and get a fretless out of it at the same time! I'm...

    First build thread 'Roberts JB4'

That is a NICE looking instrument. Every part of it is so cleanly crafted. I for one can't wait to see and hear it once done!

ACG Recurve single cut 9 string for Mark.

Gadzooks! Massive describes this bass, methinks... The neck must be under an enormous amount of strain! Tuned F♯–B–E–A–D–G–C–F–B♭?

    Finally, another build thread...

Wha? It wants me to disable Addblock? That's a new trick... Perhaps a better file sharing site is: http://www.4shared.com/. (It does allow streaming audio/video.) --- Probably it's the nature of these later pictures, but it looks like the walnut has lightened some? I love the...

    Custom Vadim 6-string

Genius! Beautiful guitar, too. I love the contour lines of the body, and the figure of the curly walnut is splendid. Felicitations!
