No longer available Peavey GV (G Bass 5 String)

I just looked up what I paid for this bass, and this is it. I'll be happy to get out what I put in. I'm going to let this sit up here until it sells.

No longer available Peavey GV (G Bass 5 String)

I'm getting less action on this than I thought I would, so I guess I misjudged the market, so I'm dropping the price. I'm not playing this, so I'd like to see it go to a good home, but on the other hand, this isn't going to fund a another purchase, so I'm not rush to sell.

No trades right now. At this point I need to get some gear out of the house.

No longer available Peavey GV (G Bass 5 String)

Up for your consideration is a Peavey G V bass. I've probably been holding onto this one way longer than I should have - I never really play 5 stringers, and this one just sits and doesn't get used, but I like it so much, that I haven't been able to sell it. But, it's time to trim some fat, and...

    I did it!!!!

Nice work man. I'm really proud of you. Thank you for sharing. Anxiety is real, and can be crippling. It's inspiring to see people like you talk about this in the open.

How Do You Cope with Self-Doubt?

I'm an amateur musician. I was a professional chef for years. Both ventures had elements of self doubt. Especially being a chef, where I had numerous review I cold constantly read. I dealt with it like this - I accepted I'm not perfect. This is a lot harder to do. You spend so much of your life...

Inflation and are you near your limit?

I work for a company that sells meat and seafood to restaurants. So we fly and truck in extremely perishable products multiple times a week. On top of that, our customer base, which has taken an enormous hammering over the past couple years for a variety of reasons, is looking at their bottom...

What year did you start playing bass?

2020, I was 41. I picked it up because I had been learning banjo for the previous, I don't know how many years, and I had memorized how to play certain tunes, but I didn't really understand what I was doing. For some reason I felt like bass was a "foundational" instrument, and learning that...

SOLD Fender Deluxe Active Precision w/ EMGs

A few things to note about this bass... The pickups have been replaced with EMG PJAX. Since they're EMGs, it means they also have EMG pots, jack and knobs. The controls are VVT. The pickguard has been replaced so there isn't an empty hole where the passive / active switch was. When I got...

Pickup for an odd sized route

I figure it’s that or a jazz pickup. It’s the right width for a mini humbucker but the route is so long. I may just go with a jazz pickup with blades to avoid string spacing issues.

    NBD Peavey Fury...

Nice score. My oldest bass I still own is a Fury. Every time I think it’s time to “thin the heard”, I’ll pick that bass up, even if I haven’t played it in a while, play it, and put it right back in the “don’t sell” pile.

Pickup for an odd sized route

I recently picked up an EB-0 at a decent price, probably because it was stripped of all electronics and hardware and had been routed for a bridge pickup and aftermarket bridge. I like the idea of a bridge pickup, but I would prefer to use the existing route than have to cut away additional...

To return or not to return…

I would keep it. There are plenty of “mint” basses that sound meh. Maybe I sound too hippie like but wood is organic. It doesn’t all sound the same and come together the same way. If you get one that sounds great it’s a keeper as far as I’m concerned.

I Hate To Be Picky ...

I personally think there is a big difference between pick and fingers sound wise, especially when I play. As far as big name bass players are concerned- I like some guys tone who play with a pick and I like others who play with their fingers. I like my tone more with a pick. I guess what I’m...
