Yeah they dropped in, they worked fine with the stock preamp.

The pickups are the NJ5S Model, and the pre is custom by Carey

I love this bass. I think the neck is extremely comfortable. I just had a nordstrand preamp put in this thing coupled with nordstrand hum cancelling pickups. Sounds great passive. Now wired: Tone/Volume, Blend, bass/treble, mid push pull, and active/passive switch Sounds great

That is a pretty broad question. There is sooo much good funk man, but in summary if you like Parliament you will like George Clinton's "Computer Games" album. Its full of bass heavy grooves, i promise. Check this out
