    magnets. I am thinking of switching over to velcro though.. magnet covers can sometimes rattle =/ either that or go back to screws, but magnets look so clean! as for the knob placement, I thought it would be fun to build. Also, passive pickups, no battery. Volume/Blend/Tone

    Rethinking neck design...with build content

    Tuefell did neck design one basically, where he did a super lightweight core (i believe basswood) with an ebony shell. looks killer, and worked really really well

    Here's a jig i made to do my pickup covers. the pickup sits in a recess, and then there are templates that fit overtop to route the two areas of the pickup. the jig has a spot for each template to set the exact bit depth each time. works like a charm!

    Totally know it's been a while everyone. things got really crazy this winter, but long story short, i bought a house and now have a new shop! It's taking a long time to get the shop set up properly, but it's time i finish these basses =]

    the color IS the finish..sort of. it's all oil based stuff, but it will get waxed as well right before strings are put on to bring out some lustre

    naw, i find glow in the dark to be such a gimmick. You can argue the usefullness for side dots, but i just don't like it. Reminds me of the glow in the dark city from the old Batman movies

    yep! it was customer's request. The maple top will also be blue, so its going to be a pretty colorful bass. one of the other guys is getting a purple wenge fretboard.

    Got all the fretboards bound, glued on and radiused.. now the fun stuff starts. before+after of one of the wenge boards. =]
