Ok Nevermind guys... I got it.. appears to be all the same according to the schematics I have seen for all these amps in that era. So I did the conversion, disconnected the death cap (but left it on the board) and WOW all my AC noise is gone, and best of all, it did not cost me anything :)

The speaker would be the biggest voicing difference.. I always like 12"s for guitar.. Just the right amount of low end.. I am going to have a lot of fun recording with this..
