Are these two cheapo basses the same?

I am a guitar player.. and I just bought a black MM copy for $95 shipped.. Just needed for occasional recording..

Well I got mine yesterday.. Really like the look and feel.. I had to do quite a bit of setup on mine..

1.) Tightened the neck to the body (you might want to check yours).

2.) Adjusted truss rod

3.) Set string height and intonation

4.) I had a few frets that needed to be leveled.

With all that it plays and sounds really nice.. my only gripe is I do have a blemish on the right side of the rosewood from the 3rd - 5th fret.. I contacted the seller asking if this was B stock.. but even still for $95 shipped, I will probably keep it since I spent the time to set it up and the blemish does not affect the playability or sound..

The feel is much nicer and sounds much better than the Ibanez bass I had a few years ago, and better than the Squire P basses which are more expensive..

If you know how to do a proper setup, these are well worth the money. I recorded a couple of tracks with it and I am very happy with the sound..

Not sure why there are 2 tone knobs though, they seem to do the same thing lol.

Dr. Tech metallic blue was main bass for 2 gigs in a row now. We're in a really crap-sounding venue where you MUST have the ability to boost mids & highs while cutting frequencies around the low G on the E string. This $89 with free ship is doing the job.

On the Dr. Tech, the rear control appears to be a "normal" tone control. The middle one appears to modify the mids on the ones here. Both have caps for this wired to them.
