Official Ampeg Portaflex Club

Good one! Spellin was never my strong point. :p

That cord really did me in. I'm pretty blind without my glasses but I hate wearing them when I play. I tripped over the cord and tumbled down a set of stage stairs. I wound up with some cuts and a broken toe. Luckily I wasn't carrying anything.

Ouch! BTW - that's a healthy, musician-like misspelling, and as such, is entirely honorable.

It's getting late, and the puns are just going to get worse, so I'd better sign off for the night and say "sorry for your trebles" :-)

Nice amp. Those curly cords should be a requirement with old amps. They look so cool. :D

I agree! Granted, I think the curly cords should be used ALL the time. Mine is a Fender. I use it with my Ampeg SVT-4 Pro too.

Funny thing about the cable, I get WAY more responses about the cable than I do any other piece of gear I own!

Oh yeah! Feels good to be a portaflex owner! I've been playing one off and on for awhile, and the last owner finally said I could have his. He gave me a great deal, He said he bought it new in the 70s, he just can't remember when!

For those interested, Bullet Cable makes a very nice, high quality quality Coil Cable. I'm not affiliated or anything, but am an owner, and it's a good quality cable.

Lot's of color options. They are 30' long (I guess that is if they are stretched to the max). A little long IMO, also pretty heavy.

A Crown Royal bag is perfect for storing your Coil Cables.

I finally had to give in and start wearing my glasses when playing too hard to see stuff with my tired old eyes. glad you didn't get seriously hurt.

Wow, the price is right. They claim that the speaker is in great shape. Nothing wrong with an original CTS. It would need a tray, cabinet lid, shock mounts, and latches. Another option would be to build just a lid and use it as a stand alone or extension cab.
