Hey, as long as he didn't do any real damage I say keep writing melodies. My bass lines arise from my guitar players parts that I add in stuff to make it groove with all 3 bandmates.

Now that sounds like a very nice bass to have. Maybe one day I can have a sweet bass to sell and regret later. But that's part I the hole experience. My dream would be a 72 jazz, just like geddy.

I was looking at the vintage modified 70s jazz, looks sweet.

I always liked bass over guitar simply because I hated chords, I loved single notes. For me it was easy, I liked bass so much better I used an octave pedal on my dads start and played bass covers. It's about personal preference, but on a bass forum, most will say bass. Good luck! P.S bass is...
