Thanks everyone. I have thought about getting a really light weight rig. But my mind is made up. I love bass, it's a part of me... But at the same time it's exciting to try new challenges and gear. I may do some studio stuff when asked, but as for playing out I'm going to give guitar a go.

Currently my favorite pedal company has to be EHX. These guys aren't afraid to experiment, they have good stuff and it's inexpensive. They somehow manage to keep their prices low while being inventive and experimental. I love it! And the DBBM is a total winner, also I just grabbed a Bass soul...

Also the EHX BBM is fairly inexpensive. Hard to beat in its price range

If your new to these kind of effects, I suggest a Bass big muff. I have the deluxe version and love it! It's also good at taking other dirt pedals into it for stacking purposes.

Absolutely! I'm given the freedom to play what I want and I'm encouraged to do lead work in certain songs. We use the original song as a reference and the guitar player will play the lead / melody lines. Beyond that we make it our own.
