Hi all I'm not at all technical. I have an old beast (above) that intermittently stops outputting sound unless I close the loop between the (patch) pre out and power in by plugging a jack lead from one to the other. Any suggestions? Plus I wanted to DI from by bass amp and need advice in how...

Thanks Jazzish. Just spoke to someone in UK (guitar shop) who reckons it's worth (c) £10k if all original. The guy over the road bought this new in 62 was in a band for 5 years and then put it away. It has 50 years of grime on it but works. Sounds dull but the strings are like polished steel...

Neck looks good as strings loose. Nothing on eBay that I can find apart from MIJ copies.

Bought my nipper a SS Jaguar on the advices of the good people of TalkBass and it's a great little bass - thanks. Need a little practice amp for his bedroom that does the Jaguar justice without removing plaster from the ceiling. I will buy whatever the consensus is so over to you... Thanks
