    The term ’vintage’?

    I still kind of like “old” basses. I’m totally OK with that description and it would actually get more attention from me than vintage would. You can find some really awesome old stuff sometimes and be able to afford it, if you don’t want to pay the “vintage tax”.

    Is anyone still taking old curmudgeon names and giving out numbers? Or is this evolved to a basic elder bassist thread? I’m new to the forum but not that new to bass playing. Switched from sax to electric bass in 64, shortly after watching the Beatles make girls cry on Ed Sullivan.

    Recently added a DiMarzio DP127 spit p pickup to my passive older Schecter fretted pj bass and it looks like these two vintage volume pots have given up. Bass plays and sounds great, but neither vol pot attenuated the volume. So I was planning on just replacing both of them, since I have no need...
