Heres a question to all, what diffrence will a bolt on neck as opposed to a thru neck make n what diffrence with strings through body as opposed to strings sitting on top of bass in bridge like how nearly every bass is ? How should sustain change ?

I've had 2 6 strings built 1 fretted 1 frettless both same design 1 truss rod 2 graphite tuned rods in fretboard different woods on the basses, both have the same bridge where strings go into solid body like a elec gtr but even when not pluged in to a amp on the frettless u can feel the sustain...

Getting off subject about 4x10 n 1 15 but many years ago when i was a theatre tech we replaced the FOH pa system so with the old speakers side of stage n after a few beers i thought it would be fun to "build" a bass rig, 2000x amp in cross over,comp,dual 32eq so 1 side of amp i ran 1 FOH speaker...

Yes im with u on that & i run the 15 output from the amp lower then the 10 both are tuned cabs. Thank you as i try to always learn

Hi mate can u please explain why not ? I know 2 15 would be better with 4 10 but i was after the punchy 10 sound with some more depth hence 1 15, is that incorrect?

Im lucky to have 4 x 10 sit on 1 15 so for me is the best of both worlds 300w each with a 600w head :)

I have had 2 6 string basses made 1 fretted 1 fretless with the same design 36inch scale neck all the way through but i had a bridge made so my strings go through the body. :)

Hi all my old TE gear is about 25 years old now has never missed a beat n love it, the only thing ive heard that sounded better n louder was when i made a bass rig out of a FOH 2000w pa system dual 32 band eq cross over 2 15in with horn x 2. It made hole theatre shake :)
