    Favorite High Quality Bass Maker?

    There are many great bass guitar companies making great basses. But I always said, if I end up playing a bass it's gonna be a Fender P bass. At 59 years old I just remember seeing P basses in cool old bands. It's not just a Fender thing, because for guitar it's an ES335.

    Beware pickguard from Strukture

    I bought the same pickguard for my MIM P bass. I sanded it for the neck and the pickups. The holes were close but not perfect so I heated it with a hairdrier from the middle and worked my way around putting the screws in as it grew. Looks good though.

    Solid color or wood grain?

    Although my bass is midnight wine, I prefer natural wood. I saw a beautiful Fender Jazz bass at Guitarcenter, with the best woodgrain ever! But I wanted a P bass.

    If the pictures work. This is my just aquired 1998 MIM Fender P Bass. Mint. But I didn't like the white PG and the Strat knobs. So I put on a red tort and '72 Tele knobs. I don't know why, but I would like a number? JKRAM
