Just making sure I'm getting this right... So say i have an amp head that I really dig, you're saying I could do something like: bass>amp head>preamp>powered cab? Or did you just mean bass>preamp>powered cab?

Yeah I've used a pre before and it sounded alright, not great... Just wondering if an amp head would be alright. With my limited knowledge of how electronics work, I figured an amp head wouldn't be good, just seeing if anyone had any alternative ideas.
