    Pickups for 3 pickup bass

I have a Burns Bison from 2009 ? . The best sounding bass I have ever played . But still mostly use just the neck with tone down . Occasionally neck and middle . There are enough settings so you will never get bored .

    NBD: Yamaha BB734A - Some Q's

Had mine for over 5 years . Absolutely no problem with it at all . All I have done was a quick set up and new strings when I got it and its been amazing ever since . I may have changed the battery once or twice . Neck and fret work have been without fault .

Tech21 SansAmp Geddy Lee YYZ Protection Diode Replacement

I agree with agedhorse above . But if you are determined to have a go yourself , be prepared for failure if mistakes are made . You could try to remove the diode and power up the pedal , paying strict attention to polarity and voltage . If pedal will not power on at all with diode removed , then...

    Tapewound curious

I have had Roto 88 tapes on my JCB since the day after I bought it 8 years ago . Also with a supertone bridge . They will never be changed . It is the go to bass in my studio for recording . Occasionally take it out to play but its home is in the studio .

Tech21 SansAmp Geddy Lee YYZ Protection Diode Replacement

Based on the above , if you look at the bottom left hand corner of the schematic , it has 2 diodes for protection . D5 is a silicon rectifier in series and D1 is a 10V zener in parallel . As this is also made by Sansamp , I'm am guessing that they would use a similar setup . Any idea what caused...

Tech21 SansAmp Geddy Lee YYZ Protection Diode Replacement

It depends on whether it is used in a series or parallel configuration . If parallel then will be a zener diode , if series then would be a conventional rectifier .

Tech21 SansAmp Geddy Lee YYZ Protection Diode Replacement

This is the only SMD diode I can find that looks similar enough . It is a zener diode in an SOD-80 package but without the schematic , it is hard to work out the voltage rating .

Tech21 SansAmp Geddy Lee YYZ Protection Diode Replacement

Need to try and get hold of schematic ideally . Not sure how it is intended to work . The form factor looks like it is a zener diode but voltage rating is unknown . I'll do a bit of research and post back here if I find anything relevent .

    Main bass

Never really thought about it til now . Main gigging bass rarely gets played at home and stays in gigbag . Others are used at home . I have two in the studio that rarely come out of there . I reckon 95% of gigs are played with the Yamaha with the odd appearance of the Burns or a fretless . I...
