Surely if Gibson gets their way it's only going to harm them. Artists aren't going to be using LP/V/Exp shapes. That in turn means kids who grow up to afford them won't be as enamoured with them and want the "authentic" brand. People are also going to wonder why artists aren't using them...

Well I wouldn't get rid of mine. A mighty bass. To me only let down by the fact the truss rod is a pain to adjust and it weighs a ton. Sounds wise excellent. Love playing it.

Just out of interest what exactly is supposed to be a fault. I searched google earlier and I found mentions of warping, truss rods maxing out from bowing. Wood too soft to hold against the nut and the fret slots cut too deep weakening the neck. The odd thing was. Most were in the line of "Oh...

How so? Do you think they have special stocks of Maple for it? Fender do thinner necks probably made from the same baulk buy of blanks with no problems so why should the Dirnt differ? Any way mines fine strung with labellas which are quite high tension.

Why would it differ from any other Fender neck? Can't see them having a seperate stock of Maple or using different techniquies to route the TR.

That is not entirely true. In the US it may be protected. But seemingly they haven't protected the 4001/3 outside the US. Contrary to what Americains think. Their laws do not extend outside their shores. That makes the 2nd statment false too. Because if the design is not protected...

No offence but that was partly down to her for not checking out the factory . Believe it or not there are factories that are willing to keep things exclusive and operate on the same morals as the rest of the world. Just takes a bit of effort and coinage to make sure you get a good factory...
