I have a Venus Z that works great as EQ/HPF - now i’m looking for a drive option to replace my sansamp. Would the finally with a 12AX7 work or better a redacted ii with all in eq and drive so I could let the Venus Z go?

Can we consider that Mayday will allow for breakup with a 12AX7, which cannot be achieved with the Venus Z (unless we boost the signal in)?

Cool! How are the TV Blades working from a string to string volume balance? I had to adjust the hipshot bridge carts to their limits in order to get the E and G strings closer to the pickup poles as the E and G were sounding weaker. The Artec humbuckers are hotter than the stock single coils...

This is my Jet Streamliner with Artec pickup and hipshot bridge. Poles lack alignment, there is some drop in volume on E and G - but the pups are hotter than the stock single coils. Need to now try it on live environment. Has anyone else gone thru this mod to kill the hum?

I did more A/Bs, there is indeed a pleasant difference that I was not paying attention by just leaving the press on. Not sure if the transformer works only for the DI, though. For saturation, would it work better to have a drive before or after the Venus? Tks

I have a Ray5 and still haven't got used to the narrow spring spacing. Has anyone adjusted nut and/or bridge for larger spacing? Tks

Sushi followers, I have a Venus Z that I bought as a DI and for the EQ and HPF controls it adds - for what it works perfectly, and apparently, in a very transparent way. That's to say, with all EQs at noon and HPF off, I cannot hear any difference out of the pre 1/4 or XLR out or the dry ones...

@MightyJJ don't know what audio interface you use - my Volt 176 allows for standalone operation (using a phone USB cable) and has an emulated 610 preamp and a built in 76 compressor. Can also use the headphone w/o connecting the amp. A preamp pedal with all that may work better and add EQ and...

@Chris Chong , great playing! I also downloaded the UA 610 - per the controls, I believe the DCX would be the 610A

@Switcharoo, this is great! Tks for the effort! To me, they sounded pretty close, with the DCX being brighter/clearer. Apart from the DI functionality, I guess the DCX can be more versatile. What were your impressions?
