new bass fuzz from SUF, the Rhinosaur!

I've been meaning to post in this thread for about a week now, but have just been behind. I've got a Rhinosaur - I actually worked on the graphics, and Matt paid me with the second production pedal of the run. So far, I've played it through my rig (Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 driving a custom 2x12...

If you had 25$ or a little more for a new gizmo...

If you're not afraid of The Fuzz, the Dano French Toast is excellent - it's a clone of the Foxx Tone Machine, which is one of my favorite fuzz pedals on bass. It's got a switchable octave, which can be absolutely vicious & cutting, and the fuzz is fantastically "tight," with plenty of low end. I...

    Which would you rather own?

I have an Eau Claire Thunder, and love it. It is simply hugetastic. So many amazing sounds to be had. If you don't want the huge enclosure and multiple footswitches, Dwarfcraft makes a smaller version called the Baby Thundaa - [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

So you decided to buy a Flanger...

If you're not afraid to build / mod / solder (or know someone who will do it for you), the BYOC (Build Your Own Clone) Stereo Flanger is gorgeous. My guitarist built one for himself, but didn't like it because it was too dark. I gave it a go, and it sounded perfect. "Chewy," "warm," "deep" - all...

    Doom/Stoner pedals

My guitar player got a Way Huge Swollen Pickle last week, and told me to try it... the thing put out so much low end, it almost vibrated my head right off my cab! It's monstrously huge. Add in the adjustable scoop control (which lets you scoop or boost your mids), and it's surprisingly versatile.

Using New Zoom G3 With Bass - First Impressions

My guitar player got a G3 on a whim, and we put it through its paces at practice this week. The modulation and delays were quite good to my ears - I was especially impressed with the phasers, which got really deep and swooshy (I'm not one for wimpy phasers). The delays were also cool - there...

New England FALL 2011 GTG - Save the Date! November 5, 2011

Like a dope, I posted in the spring GTG thread without looking for this one. Facepalm. Nov. 5th seems promising to me. Penciling it in to the schedule now...

my bass & fx-heavy solo thing: Crotchthrottle

So, there's this thing that I've been doing for the past couple of years to keep myself amused... and after a couple of inclusions on the TBFX Noise Comps, I was encouraged enough to make a go at a couple of "proper" albums. They're both up on Bandcamp now, and physical copies can be purchased...

So you decided to buy a Flanger...

If you can solder, try out the Build Your Own Clone Stereo Flanger. According to them, it's an original design, not actually a clone. My guitar player and I did a lot of research on flangers, and this was by far the best to our ears on bass. You can opt to buy a different 2nd delay chip to...

    TBFX Noise comp. Vol. 4

Bumpage for Mr. Pickles being back (hopefully). Anybody else submitting? If not, should people submitting... uh... submit more? I'd do it. I'm crazy like that.

    Stereo Distortion/Overdrive?

Also, Line6 made the ToneCore platform for use with switchable sound modules - they offered a stereo dock with two ins and outs. I never tried any of their OD/fuzz modules, so I can't testify to the actual sound quality, but they meet the 2 in, 2 out requirement.
