Lots of talk about strap width but what about strap girth?

I was curious about the Haz pre-amp. I've noticed in these examples below, that the components are slightly different. Were there different eras or configurations over the years? Are they considered any different, sound wise?

Even if you don't like the strings, a couple months of regular play will wear them out, and you'll come away having learned about them. I've been playing for about 3 years and tried out maybe 6 different types of strings. Some I loved, others not so much, but I felt I learned a little something...

I am also pro-saving-what-you-already-have. Every time you pick your basses up, think of the savings, and allow yourself to dispense some dopamine.

Don't have the place to host, but have queso dip to bring. Happy to chill at a Fieldwork or some such venue as well.
