Post your VERY SPECIFIC pedalboard, if you got it ...

I've had this same setup for close to two years. Sadly, my beloved Octamizer isn't wired up bc it was a casualty in an interstate accident on the way to an out of town gig. Some *** hit me from behind, ran me off the road, and my 4runner (full of gear) flipped. Somehow, the only real damage was...

    Q: Sound System HPF

It's the subway 215, it's not that dark. But I think it's definitely handling the "mesa mids" differently than the sound system or the monitors for sure.

    Q: Sound System HPF

Just rechecked: it's post-EQ, Line level, which would explain a lot. I didn't used to have it post, and I vaguely recall a sound guy saying "don't you want your amp sound in the PA?" I guess my next gig I'll reverse those, which I suppose is the obvious thing I should have checked and tested before.

    Q: Sound System HPF

Using a direct box instead is something I've been wondering about. I haven't been too keen on my WD-800's sound in my PAs using the amp's DI and just didn't think too much about it because it felt weird questioning it. Then I did a larger local gig at an outdoor fest a couple weeks ago and...

What to get next to improve tone?

^^ agree sounds like flatwounds straight into the board. Would be helpful if you had a clip of your bass sound to compare to, as it's possible a certain type of pedal could help bridge the EQ gap, but IMO without reference there's nowhere to really start with suggestions. I do think you'll run...

    SOLD SolidGoldFX Beta Dlx

Excellent condition SolidGoldFX Beta Deluxe, no velcro, no box or papers. Great pedal for shifting tones on the fly or just having a great preamp sound with one of the most natural-sounding overdrives I've used. Beautiful grit that doesn't drive the sound guy crazy. Harder to find these days...

    East Tennessee Talkbass

Cool, I've never seen anyone cover Grouplove around here. That's a surprise one (and refreshing). Did the band even know it before you learned it? And how does it go over live?

    Step on it …

There are tons of overdrive or preamp pedals that are an easy way to do this, and it's a matter of finding ones with the overall sound you like, as everyone has very different tastes/preferences. The programmable BDDI mentioned above can give you multiple options in one unit, but it has a very...

Looking for a Fuzz sort of like the Red Witch Zeus with the Bias adjustment

Add smallsound/bigsound Team Awesome! Fuzz Machine to the list. Great fuzz for bass and more versatile than the Zeus...which is indeed an awesome fuzz sound, but i ended up selling exactly because i needed to cover more ground.

    NPD: Zoom MS-60B (a Review)

Is that to allow foot control of the left/right scroll buttons? Or to prevent accidental hits?

Fuzzrocious Club - The One to Rule them All.

Give the Anomolies time and try treating it as an instrument itself. It's a special one unlike any other delay. To Ryan's point, it's not meant to be pristine, and I love it for that.

So I'm looking for a 2nd band and...

I dunno, I think most bands do assume any bassist can just show up and do a show, esp a low-recognition band. I've played pickup gigs with multiple groups at decent venues where I couldn't even get a set list from the band leader before the gig (got in a serious pinch when "Sussudio" got called...

    Parametric EQ pedals

I've tried a variety, and IME the Empress ParaEQ is incredible in terms of quality and balancing deep control and ease of use (their documentation for settings for different needs is v good). For anyone asking about EQ pedals, I always want to ask back "What are you needing it for?" Parametric...
