    John Paul Jones fan club?

I'm not familiar with this numbering thing. Could someone please explain? Sorry, I'm new to TB.

    John Paul Jones fan club?

Very nicely worded. I couldn't have said it better myself!

    John Paul Jones fan club?

I was about to post my own JPJ thread, but I see you beat me to it a while ago. In my opinion JPJ is one of the most underrated bassists of all time. I feel like the only people who truly appreciate him are bass players. I've never met a non-bassist musician that actually gives JPJ the credit he...

    Bass Cabinet with 15 Recommendations

I own a GK Neo 1x15 and a GK 1001rb head. If portability is important to you, I'd recommend a GK Neo 1x15. It's extremely light and it sounds great if you're into a Flea-like sort of tone. It has great mids and highs but if your a bass player that prefers zero treble, this isn't the speaker for...

Best cab to add to GK 1001rb 2 and GK NEO 1x15 rig

What style of music do you play? You must not be playing the same stuff as me because a 2x10 just wouldn't cut it. My main band plays mostly rock with a hint of funk and our music is pretty bass-oriented so I have to be pretty loud. And my other band plays metal and both my drummer and guitarist...

I think I'm gonna go with another 1x15. Thanks everyone who offered their suggestions. You were all VERY helpful! :bassist:

Best cab to add to GK 1001rb 2 and GK NEO 1x15 rig

That's a valid point there. I like the 1x15 but but I'm thinking the 2x12 would add a lot more power since it has a higher wattage and more speakers. But of course there's still the issue of phase response. I think it would be safer to get another 1x15 but I'm not sure if it'll have a sufficient...

Best cab to add to GK 1001rb 2 and GK NEO 1x15 rig

I found it. The fact that he doesn't have any feedback is a problem. And I don't really like the idea of giving away my 1x15. It's a great speaker, I just want an additional one to better accommodate my head. Thanks for all the help. I appreciate it a lot.

I guess selling my 1x15 for a 4x10 wouldn't be a bad idea if I can get a good deal on it. As for the guy you mentioned willing to trade, I can't seem to find him on the classifieds but I live in Illinois so it would be a little difficult to get it anyway. Thanks for the welcome!

It seems science supports matching speakers. I'm not experienced with mixing cabs so I wouldn't know how much of an impact it has on the sound.

I've considered doing that but I prefer having 2 cabs. Stacking them on stage so that the top cab is higher up allows me to hear myself more clearly and it also helps project the sound throughout the venue. Plus full stacks look badass

I did a little bit of research on phase response. A lot of people on other threads claim the difference in frequencies coming from mixed speakers doesn't have a noticeable affect on the sound.

I hear a lot of bass players say this but I never understood why its necessary to have 2 matching cabs. I understand that its a widely-known rule but is there any technical reasoning behind it?
