Do looks/aesthetics of the instrument matter to you?

But of course. Almost 96% agree.

Red P-Bass or Black P-Bass, but what color Pick Guard?

That's not how I voted but I agree. I voted for Tortoise. Scott and I don't like white. :)

    Replica build, decals, and morality

Ha! I'd put the Fender logo on with "built by [whateveryournameis]" with it. You're a Fender fan, right? That's why you wand the name on the axe. Have fun,

    SX model numbers

I went to the GC today and they showed me several basses. I handled a couple of full sized and a 30" and a 28". The weights, of course, were significantly different. The 30" was a black Squire with a natural neck. Only $149 and they dress the frets on any guitar purchase. I liked the feel of...

    SX model numbers

I Know this is an old thread but I'm in a similar situation as keiths. As far as think of investigating bass is concerned. And I too am considering an SX because of my good experience with an SX "Rockin' Rose" strat :)) The yellow/orange version posted here.) and a Hadean Tele from Rondo. Maybe...

The voice of reason. I don't like Fender because they cost too much (For me.) I do like Fender because it's a Fender and I think Leo Fender was a cool guy. But then I don't play bass so who cares what I think (About Fender basses at least.) If I ever do try to play bass, and that's a distinct...

    cheap doesn't matter

OK, I give up. I'm new to the electric guitar scene but how come every time someone buys a new guitar they want to change all the hardware? Pickups, tuners, bridges, strings (Maybe I can understand that but why would the OEM put sorry strings on a good guitar?) What am I missing here? :) Thanks,

    New SX - Thanks Kurt!

Thanks for the replies folks! I'm not ready to take the plunge ($120! Three meals out or a pair of sneakers. :) What a plunge.) since I've recently purchased 3 electric guitars which I really need to learn to play better. But I am interested and will watch this forum with an eye to learning...
