Double Bass Carlo Robelli 300 series?

I have a 600 series Robelli. It plays and sounds great. It WAS set up by a luthier who thought it was a more than honest instrument for $1600. Like all wooden instruments, it's about the resonance of the wood first, not the brand.

Double Bass An Age Old Question

I have a Robelli 600 (hybrid), and it sounds terrific for the $1600 I paid. Had some minor setup done by Bruce Wallace who's been mentioned here. My bassist (I'm primarily a guitarist) who has an 8k German bass is equally impressed. Even though the verdict is in on this forum as far as...

Double Bass ATTENTION ALL SHEN BASS OWNERS IN MONTREAL!

I just bought a Carlo (gulp) Robelli 600 Series. I was looking at Shen, and Upton. This bass has a solid spruce top and plays really well. I know the brand is considered a joke here, but this new model is a real bargain for the price IMO. Invalid Link Removed

Double Bass Ready for the first bass, who's Carlo Robelli?

Has anyone tried the hybrid 600 Series Carlo Robelli? I'm a newbie to double bass, but I've been playing guitar for 45 years with many fine bassists along the way. I was actually impressed with the tone of this instrument. I understand the concept of cache or lack thereof, but if it sounds...
