I would like to ask the community here on Talk Bass about protecting my Ebony fretboard. I have a GWB model fretless (the black, budget one). I want to protect the fretboard from roundwound strings. If anyone has any viable solutions I'll gladly hear them. Thanks for your time!

I'm looking into swapping out my emg hz's for some nordstrand big singles (the hz's just aren't cutting in the tone department). Can anybody give me some accurate specs and help determine if they are the right size? From what I've seen, the nordstrand's might be too long.

Which is exactly what I was thinking. However, I was doing some research on the old Tel-Ray Morely pedals (which he used) and it turns out that the rotating oil Morely pedal actually simulated the leslie speaker sound or at least that's what it was built for.

You're right about the sb-1000 having acgive circuitry, but Cliff's SB Black N' Gold I did not have active circuitry. He used the SB 1000 in '85 then got a SB Black N Gold I in late '85. So he actually used 2 Aria's in the process of making MoP. We can assume that Orion was one of the last ones...

That makes a lot of sense actually, because he had one passive bass pickup in his Aria. It wouldn't be able to get the full distortion he had (his Rickenbacker 4001 had a SD Strat pickup installed in the bridge, which provided most of his distortion). So it maked sense that he used a guitar amp...

I For one thing, I can tell you he didn't use the Big muff past '83. He might've used it some in the RTL demos, but there are several solid evidence support that he used an Ibanez Tube Screamer 9 as his overdrive/distortion. We also know he had a Morley Power Wah Boost and a Boss Compression...
