I'm looking into swapping out my emg hz's for some nordstrand big singles (the hz's just aren't cutting in the tone department). Can anybody give me some accurate specs and help determine if they are the right size? From what I've seen, the nordstrand's might be too long.

Are you against active pickups? I'd go for regular active EMG's but Nordstrands are better than EMG HZ's. I love the active EMG's but HZ's sound horrible, IMHO. I have/had basses with EMG and Nordstrand pickups. The EMG's sound way better to me. My custom jazz currently has Nordies. I plan to go back to EMG.

Well I adore the sound of the nord's. Really fits my tone needs.
