Sadowsky preamps are "boost only" so with the bass & treble knobs rolled back to zero or in passive mode you should have the same or very similar flat tone?

My 3 amigos...all Fender American Deluxe 2010-2016 models. Necks swapped on the 4s, both natural finish basses have American Ultra preamps & pickups. The 3tsb has Gen 4 pups :cool:

They recommended nail polish?!?! Wow! :rollno: Your bass is a perfect candidate for a shim in the neck. Would save you the frustration and disappointment of trying to make the bridge exceed the limits of what it was designed to do...

Although my Smoked Chrome SLO Special doesn't have any action adjust issues, Ernie Ball sells 3 packs of shims (various thickness) that are great! I use them in a few of my Fender basses :cool: Neck Pocket Shims - Pack of 3

Yes that wire should definitely be screwed and not taped, but I don't think that will eliminate the noise your describing. I owned about 3 Flexcore pre's with all different configurations so here are some obvious checks: Are your jumpers for active or passive pickups, and 2 or 3/4 band...

One thing I noticed is the Flexcore pre will have a high-end hiss if to turn the gain up too high. I'm using it with a set of Fender 75' RI pups (gain all the way down) and it's dead quiet. Had a set of white EMG JVX pups in it at one time, but was a little too bright for me...but also dead quiet.

I put a Flexcore in my MIM Marcus Miller...kept it simple with vol, blend, treble, bass & A/P switch. Use to have a John East Marcus 01 Retro preamp in it, but I never really got on with it.
