Personally, I would remove the paint but that's me. I just wouldn't trust anything to stick to it or to stay stuck to the cab.

At the time pretty much all the manufacturers of SS amps were doing the same. The great thing about the Bright Box is that it doesn't affect your ohms. :bassist:

The Bright Box has it's own X-over built-in. You just daisy chain it after your main cab(s). It is a heavy little bastard at about 20 lbs but well worth it IMO.

I wouldn't worry about whether they are Celestions or not as long as they are factory drivers which they appear to be. BTW, I don't recall the drivers in my 1524 (pre-Gibson) being marked as Celestion either. The best I can tell you is to contact Shane at British Audio service and he might be...

I love my 1524. It is my main gigging cab and I don't plan on ever getting rid of it. I might consider the new 1528 with a 1028H though!
