Getting a good setup on a bass vi can be problematic, to say the least, especially if you want to use the vibrato system. I use a 100 gauge e-string (d’addario chromes) and the a-string from the same set, this was simply to much for the unit to handle. Low bending range and no tuning...

Made this today, specifically for the bass vi. Orange fur coat -> bass octave deluxe -> rainbow machine -> stereo pulsar. octave after fuzz can get a bit glitchy at times, but i really like the sound of a clean sub beneath the fuzz. really love this setup!

Just thought I should pop in and let you know that Tim Levfebre has his own channel now, currently only 25 subs. He has two pedal combo demos. Besides being a phenomenal player, he is a wizard with effects, as many of you know. (Channel is called Timothy j Lefvebre)

After feeding the mastotron with subs maxed into the ocd, I can confirm that it does cut some low end. But I didn’t really notice it without those subs added. So there you go

I have tone and drive set to 9-10 o’clock, hp mode. There might a tiny bit of low end loss, but I think that’s kind of the nature of distortion/overdrive. Either way, I set the volume to give a fair boost as well, so to my ears I doesn’t sound like I lose any bottom.

I have the ocd v2. I love it, but i have not tried the other versions, so I don’t know how it compares to them. That pedal show (YouTube) did a pretty thorough comparison of the different versions of ocd I think. Maybe that will help you

I feel that the rainbow machine covers all I need in the polyphonic pitch mesmerizer department for the time being.

Haha! That would be too much! That consert with Om (no support) left me completely spent. I lost track of time but I think they played almost two hours. The concert was in a big old stone church which is used for different cultural events. A magical evening!
