Pedals that (maybe) ended your GAS on an effect

I have only started to scratch the surface of the sounds I can conjure in the Mooer Ocean Machine, but I'm fairly certain it's going to be my last word on delay and reverb. 2 separate delays with your normal sounds plus some very unique sounds, especially rainbow, Galaxy and Crystal. Same thing this the reverb section. Now take what we got there and you can deep dive and adjust parameters besides the knobs on the pedal, you can run them separate or into each other, in any order. You can program the switches to control different things. You have 20 something presets, midi capable, stereo capable. Oh, and it has a fairly robust looper that you can layer and change effects around and it holds what you already have recorded and allows you to tweak and change effects over top. I've only had very primitive Loopers in the past just to play around with, this is a whole new level for me.

I've gone through A LOT of pedals to get where I am. I'm very satisfied with my signal chain, and I feel like it covers all the ground I need right now.

Panda Audio's Future Impact had a deep impact on my desire for an Akai Deep Impact.

After trying a Deep Impact I got the Panda FI — no need for the older temperamental cardboard PCB of the Akai. ANNNND it basically killed my other synth pedal desires. If another synth pedal floats by at a decent price, I'm not going to pass it up, but I'm not actively seeking anymore synth pedals.

2 for me, and an honorable mention:

Empress ParaEQ - I've cycled through preamps, overdrive pedals and effects to chase a sound (warm tube amp that is still clear and not too aggressive with OD). I've found that EQing that sound in is better, more transparent and less noisy than running through effects. Precise EQ settings got me to that sound without all of the artifacts of layers of effects. I don't need anything else in the EQ/preamp department.

Empress Compressor - I play aggressively and with active basses, and this one can handle anything I put into it. Very transparent and highly adjustable. I have zero GAS for any other compressor.

Honorable Mention - IF I wanted overdrive, I would stick with my Creation Audio Labs Grizzly OD pedal. Why? It keeps the low end in full, while you can dial in overdrive, distortion, mid scoop, and high cut. Very transparent and flexible. I didn't find myself needing to try other pedals for OD. But while this is the pedal for me in the OD department, I will probably sell because I simply am not using OD.

I sold my El Capistan a little while ago to downsize my board and replaced it with a Carbon Copy I had lying around. While the CC is great, Im really missing the El Cap and currently going back and forth with just get a bigger board to accommodate for either repurchasing the El Cap or maybe try out the Volante.

One for me has been the Spaceman Explorer. I'm a phaser junkie and have owned everything from the Phase 90 to the Bi-Phase reissue. While many phasers that I've owned have been awesome, I've never thought about another phaser after acquiring the Explorer. Even though my music has and could change over the years, I don't see this pedal coming off my board in the foreseeable future.

Darkglass microtubes X cured my overdrive search. Tc nova repeater cured the delay search. I haven’t looked at drives or delays in a while now. Still looking for everything else

My first and only Phaser was the Moog Moogerfooger 12 Stage Phaser. I have no desire to try anything else. I would say the C4 has cured me of needing another synth pedal, but it didn't kick my MarkBass SuperSynth off, partly because I can use the C4 as an envelope filter on the SuperSynth. Thought the SA Collider and EHX Oceans 11 would cure me of needing more reverb, but then EHX did make the Oceans 12, so hopefully whenever those ship out, my GAS will be diminished for a good long while. Though an Aftershock may be in my future, depending on what the Multiwave Distortion One Series looks/sounds like.

So headcrushingly deep that it kills gas for new pedals - I was GASing so bad for a Tensor, but then realized the PF could do tape stop sounds. There's a bunch of random, glitch and stutter effects under the hood, and you can put together all sorts of tricks (like a suboctave trem).

Biiiiiiiiiig +1 on the Eventide Pitchfactor! :thumbsup: I recently got one of those and I freakin *LOVE* it! :)

Since aquiring the H9 and Two Notes Le Bass I have not had any GAS for pedals. That seems to be a perfect pair and accomplishes everything I've needed for a couple years now. Put those two with the BeatBuddy and a generic looper ( I just use a DigiTech SoloXt) and it's fun for days. The DigiTech SoloXt has been very useful as a glorified mp3 player along with saving my favorite beats from the beat buddy. Best $100 I've spent.
