Yes....It woke me up...I yelled at one of the cats who was Zooming in the vicinity, but didn't turn a light on. When I woke up, I saw the source of the noise and apologized to the Cat.

I had a similar thing happen to my travel bass when I was in the room, except it was the tailpiece that gave way. Scared the shiggidy out of me. Glad everything is going to be ok.

I’ve never had it happen to my bass, but I have had it happen to my violin. Same result on a much smaller scale…

Folks should not be in a rush to blame this on Anita just because the bass has an eye catching Cruella bib.

@Don Kasper, could you share with us what kind of tail gut you were using when this occurred?

Yup, having replaced my adjustable synthetic with an adjustable aircraft cable tail gut about a year ago, I'm still looking over my shoulder.

(Btw, is it raining or pouring over your house?)
