I brought the "Black" Blacktop Fender Jazz Bass a week ago. I love it! It has such a great sound (I personally had to put on a set of D'ADDARIO ECB82 CHROMES FLATWOUND strings) because I just like that deep sound and the feel of the strings...but other then that You'd be a nut to change...
Most of the suggestions may help if you want to try them. I myself have a Fender Kingman Acoustic and I think it is one of the best acoustic Bass out there in looks and sound. Feedback was also a problem. This is how I solved mine.
