I was using an Ampeg 8x6.5 and loved it, it just got fried though...rough day. I know its a small amp pushing a big cab, but i loved it.

I have a 72 bassman 50...I love it, and i'll probably never sell it. It breaks up nicely too, cause i push it decently hard.

No it just makes a very high squeak noise, and i even removed the tweeter and this still continues

I always use the without tweeter input, but i'm not sure what the guy that borrowed it used. I would even opt for removing the tweeter all together if that would help.

Can i increase the wattage or power of my 50 watt tube amp??? Via power supply or power conditioner. Any advice would be great thanks

im not sure, i was just wondering if playing through guitar amps would kill my bass tone, i was looking at avatar 4x12s and wondering if that is something i could play bass through, or is that not a good idea?

Well im actually running through an ampeg 8x6, yeah 8 six-inchers (weird). but yea i am amp shopping, possibly cab shopping. But im thinking about just getting my Mesa walkabout fixed (300 watts) And use my Bassman for guitar. But im also looking into getting a new cab, possibly a 4x10 maybe...

So i've been thinking of changing up my rig lately, and i was looking into artist's gear, the bass player from Mute Math uses 4x12s live, and he likes the tone and breakup he gets with guitar amps. How would this sound, would this be a good route to go at all?

Thanks alot guys for the help, and it seems my problem is just the power sufficiency of my fender bassman. Is there any way i can boost the wattage? For example could i possibly use a seperate power amp for power and possibly my bassman just as a preamp? that would be great if i could do that...
