New bass player for your '60's soul band and he shows up with this, recommendations...

I bought a derelict Kasino for the speakers....and just couldn't bear to take it apart. Sooo, it got an overhaul, new grill cloth, casters, etc. and is like yours, always plugged in and uncovered. And oh yeah, serious heavy! My other k100's/k200's are always covered and protected. My wife...

If he has good temperment, can play what he is supposed to do, has a good atitude, what's the problem? I normally play a 100 watt Kustom 200 with two fifteens. My last band was 11 piece with three to four trumpets, a sax, a trombone, two guitarists, two keyboards, and drums. Most places, I...

Well our choir group decided to do a upbeat southern gospel type song and I played guitar. After...

To Those with Multiple Basses... what are you playing at your next gig and why?

I Always take a Jazz bass or Schecter CV4. Then add either a DeArmond Starfire with TI Flats, or My Flying V bass (black w/hot pink pickguard). I enjoy playing all of them, and usually using the Flying V is good for a laugh when there are a lot of kids in the audience, or for a country song...

Is a short scale bass the answer to my back problem?

    1. Get a Balanced bass-not neck heavy (neck dive). 2. Sit on a bar stool occasionally to rest. 3. Find a light weight bass. A Beatle bass is what I used when I hurt my back. Just an old Univox that my brother gave me, but was a Godsend at the time. And it sounded good! 4. Don't know what...

    Fender Mustang Bass

This will date me as far as age... I had a Mustang bass with flat-wound strings running through an old Kustom 200 amp. I used a y-cord to access both channels, ran bass and treble on full, controlled everything from the guitar. Any sound you wanted, Before all the slap bass method was...
