Ugh!!!! and on my #1 too

I envy you guys who can just say, "I'll live with it". I would have to fix it. Fortunately doesn't look to bad, and at least your bass has a story to tell. We all have scars.

Fender American Thin Skin Roasted Telecaster Bass

I've owned to Wildwood Thin Skins and I like the line. Nice to have the option to get something a little different than the standard offering and many owners comment that the quality of these instruments is slightly better than regular vintage reissues. While I'm not too sure about that I can...

    My first Bass: Warmoth/Musikraft Build

Thanks Reed, I was not sure which PU covers I preferred so I put one of each thinking I would change it eventually. But for some reason I sort of like it the way it is. Sort of in keeping with the Frankenstein "partscaster" theme. We'll see. I think I maybe want to shield the cavity so I may...

    My first Bass: Warmoth/Musikraft Build

Hi Bob, I'm very happy with the Musikraft neck. The quality is top notch as far as I can tell. I have a Strat neck on order and plan to order a Tele neck from them as well. I like buying bodies from Warmoth because you can choose the actual piece. Seeing the grain and exact weight is something...

    First Bass purchase advice?

As another guitar player who has just got his first bass I encourage you to go for it. I also decided I wanted a P Bass and could not be happier. I have sort of made a commitment to myself not to buy new guitars anymore unless that is the only way to get the particular one I want. I have just...

Light Weight P Bass - Where and How?

I can back this up as I just built one that is 8lbs 5oz and the body was 4lbs 9oz. I posted photos and specs in my welcome post yesterday: My first Bass: Warmoth/Musikraft Build

Welcome Chris. I'm new here and new to the Bass as well but I'm sure what you are experiencing is not unique and others should have plenty of suggestions. Maybe reexamine what your goals are and what you are doing to get there?

Welcome Dave. I just turned 55 and took up the Bass. Been playing the guitar for years on and off but have never gotten good enough to be on stage so I envy for that. People who do that still look somewhat like magicians to me.

Another guitar guy sees the light!

New guy here as well, 55 years old and also a guitar player. Just built (assembled) my first bass. As for your new years resolution I see some gray area there. Just build one like it did!

    My first Bass: Warmoth/Musikraft Build

Hello all, Been messing around with guitars since I was a kid but always thought I should try a bass. Partly because I have big hands and also because the job of the bass player seems to suit my personality more. I don't know if either of those are valid reasons for wanting to play bass. I...
